How much to order:
To determine the number of cubic yards required for a job,
follow these steps:
- Divide the job into simple rectangular sections and
determine their dimension in feet.
- Multiply length x width x depth for each section to
get volume in cubic feet.
- Divide by 27 to get cubic yards.
- Add up all sections to get the total volume requirement.
Measurement Example
(Slab 20 ft. wide, 40 ft. long & 4 in. deep)
Equation:
Convert inches to footage (4" ÷ 12" = .333)
20 x 40 x .333 = 266.66 cubic feet
2666 ÷ 27 = 9.87 cubic yards |
